The group HOK, network architects with operational bases throughout the world, won the design competition for the new international terminal of Indira Gandhi International Delhi.
The speech embodies the high-tech language and focusing on large, the terminal will increase the number of its visitors from 15 million to 37 million annually. In short, more than double.
The 450,000 sq meters provided include restructuring of the existing and construction of the new Terminal 3 (T3)
The lines of the new structure are sinuous, dynamic moves. Metaphor of the journey and waiting for the flight departing passengers.
The terminal is the first step to realize "the dream to build an airport that showcases India to the world. The Delhi Airport would be not just be an airport - it will be an experience," says Srinivas Bommidala, director of DIAL - Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd.
During the work, which should start in these first months of 2007, the airport will remain active. Opening expected in 2010, during the Commonwealth Games.
